I Am Still Here

I have missed having time to post here in the last few weeks. I have been busy building a new desktop computer and working on photos for the web site at my new job. There just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the evening to get everything done.

I attended a forum on photographing a still life that my photo club had on Monday night. Here are a couple of the shots I took during the forum. We had a lot of fun and got some good tips on composition , lighting, and materials to use for our still life shots.

In the first shot we used a continuous light behind an umbrella to light the scene.

In the next shot we used a wireless trigger attached to our camera to set of a flash off to the right of the scene.

I would encourage you to look into a club in your area and attend a few meetings. You can learn a lot, meet some new people, and develop your skills as a photographer.

Until next time —

  1. The autumn colours in these photos are beautiful!

    • thanks for the comment. One of the tips we got was about using contrasting colors to make your focal point standout. The orange definitely
grabs your attention and pulls you into the shot.
