My photo club has changed our Weekly challenge to a Bi-Weekly challenge. I will probably just continue to call it the Weekly challenge going forward. I started looking for shots for the challenge today since it was such a nice day outside.
I was sitting at the kitchen table this morning watching the bluebirds build a nest in the new house I built for them when I noticed a wren going into the back of the barbecue grill. They built a nest in the side burner last year but the summer heat ruined the eggs in it. Rather than have them waste their time again I decided to go ahead and scare them away. When I opened the lid to the side burner I got a big surprise! The wrens had been building their nest for quite a while longer than I suspected. They had completely filled the area between the griddle and the lid. Here are a couple of shots of their handiwork.
When I checked out the shots I had taken of the nest I noticed the burner on the grill and decided to zoom in on it for my challenge photo. Here is the shot I submitted.
After taking the shots of the bird nest I decided to walk around the yard and see if anything caught my attention. When I got to the driveway I looked up and noticed the jet trails in the sky and the blossoms on the trees across the street. I decided that they were a good sign that Spring was getting closer.
Hope you enjoyed the shots. Until next time –
