This past Saturday we finally had a break in the bad weather and my wife and I went for a walk on the Big Creek Greenway. We decided to try a portion of the trail that we had driven past in a neighboring county a few weeks ago. It is an eight foot wide walkway that runs along Big Creek and covers a 20 mile stretch in various lengths of walkway made of wood or concrete. We had a nice walk of about three miles and took quite a few pictures along the way.
Here are some of the shots I took. The first one is of the walkway.
This next one is the creek which runs along the walkway and is about 20 feet away.
We saw quite a few different types of wildflowers along the path. Here are a few of them.
There were dragonflies everywhere and I got several shots of them.
When I looked at this next shot on my computer at home my wife said the male dragonfly looked like he had a smile on his face. What do you think?
We also saw several hummingbirds drinking from the flowers along the way. I believe this one is a Black Chinned female hummingbird.
There were also a lot of lizards sunning on the wooden portions of the walkway.
All in all it was a very nice day. We enjoyed our walk and the sites along the way.
Until next time —
