On The Fifth Day Of Christmas (Vacation)

It has been a while since I posted anything. I finally managed to take some time off from work and went to Florida between Christmas and New Years Day. The weather was not very nice the whole time we were there. It started raining about an hour outside of Pensacola on our trip there and stayed rainy and cloudy for the rest of our vacation. We got about three hours of sunshine on our fifth day there and we managed to make it to the beach for a nice long hike. It was cloudy when we got there and then the sun broke through the clouds for the duration of our hike.

This is what it looked like for most of our vacation —

After about an hour the sun came out and it looked like this —

I took a few pictures while we walked down the beach but I mostly enjoyed just walking next to the water. There were quite a few small shells washed up in the sand –

and quite a few starfish —

We were one of the few people walking on the beach but there were plenty of the usual beach birds —

When we finished our walk the sun went behind the clouds again and we went home.  The next day we drove downtown and enjoyed lunch at one of our favorite fast food places. I got this shot at the public park downtown on the bay.

We went back to the beach on our last day of vacation but the sun never broke through the clouds again. I took a shot of a seashell while we were walking on the beach and combined it with one of some tire tracks I had taken the first day we went to the beach. I am entering it into the Monthly Challenge at my photo club. The topic is Angles. I think it fits the subject. What do you think?

Update 1-12-2015: I won first place in the Digital Projection category tonight with the image below!
