I like taking close-ups of interesting animals. While on vacation at the beach, I managed to get a few shots of some Fiddler crabs and Hermit crabs.
If you haven’t seen one of these, they are very common on the beach. This first shot is a close-up so you can get a good look at one. They dig burrows in the sand and scurry back into them when threatened.
This one couldn’t get back to his burrow so he headed for the bushes.
In my previous post I mentioned the tern that tried to get one. The tern lost the battle and flew away.
Hermit crabs are interesting creatures. I found a couple of them as I was walking along the beach and took a few macro shots.
Their shells are very interesting because they can hide almost completely out of sight inside of them.
This one just wanted to get back in the water and get away from the guy shoving the camera in his face.
Hope you enjoyed walking along with me for a few moments. Until next time —
