Water Lilies at Gibbs Gardens

I recently went to Gibbs Gardens to photograph a few of their water lilies that were in bloom.  I am trying to post more often so I will just show some of the shots I took without a lot of explanation. The flower below is one of the first flowers I shot.

We got to the gardens around 9:30 AM  so some of the lilies were still in the shade and some were in full sun. The group of flowers below were in a very shaded spot.

I really liked the puddle of water on the lily pad next to the flower. The shadows and sunlight gave an interesting look to this shot.

I liked the soft color of the flower combined with the curves of the lily pads in the short below.

I will be going back to the gardens quite often in the future since there are areas that continuously change with the passing seasons. It is a site with a wealth of photographic opportunities.

Until next time —
