What Are You Looking At?

Monthly Challenge – Animal Portraits

My photo club challenge for October was Animal Portraits. I decided to do all three categories and here are the shots I decided to use.

I had a picture of a pelican that I worked on in Photoshop and turned it into an Audubon style picture. I watched a few YouTube videos to show me the basics to do the conversion and added a few techniques of my own. This is what I entered into the Color Print category.

For the Black and White category I used a picture of a possum that climbed up a tree in my back yard.  I just happened to be in my back yard and spotted him as he was climbing up the limb. It was very overcast and early in the morning so the lighting was a real challenge.

My wife and I went on a trip to the Smoky Mountain National Park and I captured the shot below at one of the park sites that had a working farm exhibit from the late 1800’s. I entered it into the Digital Photo category.
